FCM Travel Solutions – Kenya (trading as Charleston Travel Ltd) is seeking to hire an experienced and competent Travel Consultant within the Operations department. In your line of duty, you will be expected to conduct yourself as a professional and provide personalized service to all our client. Adherence to the set SLAs will guide your tasks as you work towards the delivery of excellent service at all times. You will demonstrate utilization of deals as offered by our various partners in order to maximize on revenue generation
Your work plan will include but not limited to:
- Ability to recognize sales leads and successfully follow through;
- Collect proper, correct and efficient information from enquiries to be converted into sales;
- Update client database with accurate client data and maintain clients’ profiles;
- Ensure SLAs are followed to the letter;
- Ensure flights options, hotels, transfers and non-air services are offered to customers;
- Advise the clients on visa and health requirements for each destination;
- Sell related non-air services e.g., insurance, transfers, hotels, tours to clients;
- Ensure effective communication is made to clients regarding their travel;
- Adhere to the Global Distribution Systems (GDS), Airline contracts and invoicing manual
The requirements and competencies we are looking for:
- 4 years or more experience in a similar position;
- Familiarity with travel reservation systems and software is required (Amadeus and Travelport)
- Knowledgeable about the latest travel trends, technology and products
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with clients and a team player;
- Familiarity with the offered destination, packages, quality itineraries in terms of airports, connecting time, lounge facilities, visa and health requirements;
- Quick thinker and solution oriented
- Professional skills that align with a high level of integrity & proper ethical standards
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of travel regulations and requirements.
- Strong research skills to find the best travel options for clients.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays
Academic Qualifications
- IATA diploma / various IATA courses (advanced IATA diploma will be an added advantage)
- Certificate in Galileo and/or Amadeus reservation system
